Freshman, JV and Varsity Basketball swept McDonogh at home Friday night 58-46, 52-44 and 49-38 respectively.
Perhaps the bigger story though is that the Loyola basketball program participated in Coaches vs. Cancer's "Suits and Sneakers Awareness Weekend," a fund-raiser for basketball coaches across the country to unite to fight cancer and raise funds and awareness for the American Cancer Society. The teams raised $2,850 on Friday night, while also fundraising at the 3rd grade CYO basketball league at Immaculate Conception School in Towson on Sunday afternoon.
Thanks go out to the many volunteers who helped out this weekend including Loyola coaches Josh Davalli, Mike Lackner, Steve Breit and Greg Koffel as well as freshman, JV and varsity parents and players, Fr. John Williamson and the St. Augustine’s 5th and 6th grade girls basketball team, Jake Davalli’s 10 and under Thunder travel basketball team, Mike Lackner's 3rd grade boys team from St. Joseph Fullerton, Steve Breit’s 3rd grade team from Immaculate Heart of Mary and everyone at ICS.
