Seniors Claude Hanley, Connor Moran, Dan O’Neill, Porter Polcaro and Aaron Shang recently qualified as National Merit Scholarship semifinalists.
About 1.5 million students in 22,000 high schools throughout the U.S. entered the competition by taking the 2012 PSAT/NMSQT. Only 16,000 students were chosen as semifinalists.
These young men represent the highest scoring 1% of students in our state. They show exceptional academic ability and potential for success in rigorous college studies.
Two students also qualified for the 2013-2014 College Board’s National Hispanic Recognition Program. The NHRP was initiated in 1983 to identify outstanding Hispanic and Latino high school students. The NHRP recognizes only 2% of the 259,000 students who took the 2012 PSAT/NMSQT in 2012. Congratulations to NHRP Scholars Joseph Benassi and John McDonald.
This accomplishment wouldn’t be possible without the exceptional efforts of our students, parents and faculty.
