LOYOLA FORENSICS CAPTURES 11TH CONSECUTIVE STATE TITLE

Loyola Forensics won its 11th consecutive state championship, and its 15th in 16 years, this past weekend at Catonsville High School. Loyola scored first place in the Speech Sweepstakes and in the Overall Sweepstakes.

Luke Scaletta:
Champion in Declamation

Jack Scaletta and Aleks Jaunzemis: 
Champions in Duo Interpretations

John Huebler: 
6th Place in Congressional Debate

Ryan Taggarse: 
3rd Place in Congressional Debate

Aidan Bissell-Siders: 
Semifinalist in Lincoln-Douglas Debate

Jack Scaletta: 
Champion in Impromptu Speaking
Champion in Dramatic Performance
Champion in Individual Sweepstakes (Triathlon)
2nd Place in Children’s Literature

Aleks Jaunzemis:
4th Place in Children’s Literature
3rd Place in Dramatic Performance
3rd Place in Individual Sweepstakes (Triathlon)

Nigel Goldsborough: 
4th Place in Extemporaneous Speaking

Charlie Minges: 
4th Place in Oral Interpretation of Literature

Michael Fiocco: 
2nd Place in Oral Interpretation of Literature
4th Place in Dramatic Performance

Zach Phillips: 
4th Place in Original Oratory

Conner Lamp: 
Qualifier in Original Oratory

Ian Cumberpatch: 
Qualifier in Dramatic Performance

As a result of their performances, these 12 Dons will represent the Archdiocese of Baltimore at NCFL Nationals, which will be in Chicago over Memorial Day weekend.

Jack Scaletta’s performance was one of the all-time greats in tournament history. He joins Nick Bateman (2008) and Adam Conner (2009-10) as one of the few students to earn four championships on a single day.
